The name Dos Ojos refers to two neighbouring cenotes that connect into a very large cavern zone shared between the two. These two cenotes appear like two large eyes into the underground and the name comes exactly from it in spanish language "Two Eyes".
BARBIE LINE
The Barbie Line runs through gigantic rooms and passages at very shallow depths. The line is zig-zagging in between huge stalactites and columns, and gives a good idea of the sheer size of the Mexican cave systems, as you can see the cave lines going away from the cavern line into massive caves. The bottom is covered with a thick layer of sediment and a lot of fresh water marine life can be seen during the dive.
BAT CAVE LINE
Also in the Dos Ojos cave system, it has the same entrance as the Barbie Line, but the line quickly turns on the other direction and leads to the Bat Cave dome, where divers can enjoy an amazing sight of hundreds of bats nesting within superb and fragile white stalactites. The decoration are white, thinner and more fragile that the rest of the cave. The cavern is extremely decorated and the bottom is often covered with fragile chips of calcite, which should not be disturbed, a good control of buoyancy is very important.

Also in the Dos Ojos cave system, but further in the jungle, The Pit is a dwell of light in the middle of the wilderness and one of the very highlights of cavern diving. It is the deepest of the Quintana Roo caves discovered so far, with some far passages at 130 meters / 427 feet of depth. The first part, where the cavern tour takes place, goes down to 30m crossing a haloclines layer at about 14 - 16 meters / 46 - 52 feet. The descent is the huge curtain of light is amazing and leads straight down to a thick white cloud of hydrogen sulfite, due to the decay of organic material. Divers will return to the surface spiraling up along the wall of this gigantic space, under a ceiling covered with thousands of several meters long white stalactites, heading back the incredible stairway to heaven of light beams. This dive is just unreal and people from around the World name it their best dive ever. A good buoyancy control is necessary to avoid free falls, and an advanced certification is mandatory to go the bottom of the cavern entrance at 30 meters / 99 feet depth.

Dreamsgate is situated between Dos Ojos and Tulum, in the middle of the cave system Nohoch. The entrance is situated 4 kms / 2.5 miles into the jungle and consists of a beautiful perfectly circular sinkhole which opens to an upstream and a downstream cavern lines. The cavern tour is short and very shallow, but the cavern is the most fragile and most decorated of all the sites for cavern diving, and therefore only experienced divers with excellent buoyancy control can dive there. The ceiling is covered with thin, long white needle like stalactites that in many places pierce through the air spaces on the ceiling, giving the impression that they’re hanging there by magic. All kind of flowstones can be seen there, from the thinnest most fragile transparent stalactite to massively large columns. The walls are showing a multitude of fossilized shells and corals and its white color reflects beautifully the lights of divers. This is the best spot to see magnificent decorations, in one of the most off the beaten track cavern dive site.

This cenote is located 10 kms / 6 miles North of Tulum and lay literally on the beach. It connects with the sea the second largest underground river in Mexico and the World, Sac Actun Nohoch Nah Chich. It is a unique opportunity to dive under a mangrove and its unique fauna and flora. It is the place where the cave and the sea realms meet and feed each other. There is a halocline here too, and the light effects are beautiful on sunny days. It is an easy dive through cracks in the karstic bed, suitable for novices.
